Steve Brannock Presents on Appellate Bonds and Stays

Brannock Humphries & Berman partner Steve Brannock presented a continuing legal education program for the Martin County Bar Association on how to stop enforcement of a judgment pending appeal.

Steve’s presentation, geared to trial lawyers, discussed how and when practitioners should file motions to stay and post supersedeas bonds.  He focused on timing issues, legal requirements, and client communication.  Steve also covered exceptions to the bond requirement, offered practical pointers for pausing collection efforts, and explained how to appeal orders denying a stay.

The hourlong program was presented live via Zoom.
