Joe Eagleton Presents on Pro Bono Appeals
As part of the St. Petersburg Bar Association’s signature annual appellate event, Brannock Humphries & Berman attorney Joe Eagleton spoke about the ins and outs of handling pro bono appeals.
Joe is the longtime pro bono chair for The Florida Bar’s Appellate Practice Section. This role gives him unique insight into the challenges, opportunities, and need for pro bono – or free – legal services. During his presentation, Joe discussed the different types of pro bono appeals, the similarities and differences between pro bono appeals and other types of appeals, and the Pro Bono Committee’s efforts to remove barriers for lawyers to engage in pro bono representation.
Joe’s presentation was part of an interactive program that featured a judicial panel from the Second District Court of Appeal and segments discussing criminal and administrative appeals.
