Celene Humphries Teaches At Prestigious Jury Seminar
Celene Humphries was invited to join the faculty of the FJA’s Christian D. Searcy Voir Dire Institute.
The Florida Justice Association (FJA) is an organization of lawyers who dedicate their practice to representing Florida consumers and people who have been injured. A handful of the FJA’s most experienced trial lawyers presented an intensive and interactive 3-day program, teaching the law and art of selecting juries who decide these cases. This process is referred to as voir dire.
Having been lead or sole counsel in more than 250 appeals and having participated in more than 50 trials as appellate counsel, Ms. Humphries focused on the law side of voir dire. Her seminar presentation explained things like the legal requirements for selecting jurors and possible errors that could cause an appellate court to vacate the jury’s verdict. Ms. Humphries also joined the faculty for the dynamic breakout sessions, during which participants were evaluated on their ability to practice what they learned .
Ms. Humphries has long supported the mission of the FJA, including the important goal of education, by publishing articles and presenting seminars. And, she is currently serving a third term as Chair of the FJA’s Appellate Practice Section. Through the years, the FJA has recognized her contributions by inducting her into the EAGLE Hall of Fame, and awarding her two of the FJA’s highest honors.
