Celene Humphries & Steve Brannock Help Prepare Lawyers for Appellate Board Certification Exam
Reprising their longtime roles, Brannock Humphries & Berman partners Celene Humphries and Steve Brannock gave lectures as part of the biannual advanced appellate practice and board certification review course, presented by the Florida Bar’s Appellate Practice Section. Celene also served as the chair of the extensive program.
The event, which is the most advanced continuing legal education program offered by the Section, serves as the principal study review course for appellate attorneys planning to take the certification exam in March. Topics included an overview of the exam specifications and substantive discussions on civil appeals, criminal appeals, administrative appeals, and extraordinary writs. The highly credentialed faculty also discussed significant recent decisions and distinctions between federal and state appeals.
Steve’s extensive presentation focused on civil appellate practice, highlighting longstanding principles often misunderstood or missed by appellate practitioners. In addition to spearheading the entire event and serving as the emcee, Celene’s hour-long presentation focused on appellate writs.
