Celene Humphries Presents to Broward County Trial Lawyers Association
Brannock Humphries & Berman managing shareholder Celene Humphries took part in a panel discussion regarding important new appellate issues, including changes to Florida’s summary-judgment standard and the appealability of orders on punitive damages.
The 90-minute event, which took place over Zoom, was hosted by the Broward County Trial Lawyers Association (BCTLA). The BCTLA is a voluntary bar organization that fosters collaboration, inclusion, and professionalism by promoting access to the court system and the right to trial by jury. Kimberly Wald of Kelley Uustal served as the moderator, and Andrew Harris of Harris Appeals sat on the panel with Celene.
In addition to highlighting recent changes, Celene also touched on recurring issues in appellate practice, such as extraordinary writs, jury instructions, and juror nondisclosure. An experienced courtroom advocate who has provided appellate support at more than 100 trials, Celene frequently shares her experiences with trial-lawyer groups around the state.
