Ceci Berman Featured on Panel at Bankruptcy Bar Event
Brannock Humphries & Berman shareholder Ceci Berman was a panelist at a virtual CLE luncheon on bankruptcy appeals presented by the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association.
Ceci, who has previously spoken and written about the differences between bankruptcy appeals and other types of appeals, was joined on the panel by Elliot Kula and Michael Markham. Ceci covered the concepts of finality and jurisdiction, answering questions like: How do you know when you can appeal an order entered in a bankruptcy case? What constitutes a final, appealable order? Are there exceptions to the rule of finality? When do bankruptcy appeals go to the district court and when do they go to the circuit court?
