Brannock & Humphries Participates In Three Successful Trials

A Fort Lauderdale jury has awarded more than $10 million in compensatory and punitive damages to the daughter of a deceased smoker, marking the third verdict in the last six weeks that Brannock & Humphries has helped obtain.

At the end of February, a separate Broward County jury returned a $37 million verdict in another tobacco case, awarding $15 million in punitive damages against R.J. Reynolds and $10 million in punitive damages against Philip Morris for their decades-long conspiracy to design addictive and deadly cigarettes and to conceal the health effects of those cigarettes from the American public.  

Just three weeks prior, a Gainesville jury hit R.J. Reynolds with a $13.5 million punitive damages award in a case brought by the wife and two children of a smoker who died at age 38 of laryngeal cancer.  His children were 3 and 5 at the time of his death.
