Tom Seider Wins Tipton Award for Legal Writing
The Florida Justice Association has bestowed its highest appellate honor on Brannock Humphries & Berman shareholder Tom Seider, awarding him the 2022 S. Victor Tipton Award for superior achievement in legal writing.
Each year, the Florida Justice Association (FJA) – a leading group dedicated to protecting the rights of Florida’s citizens and consumers – recognizes lawyers who have dedicated their careers to preserving and protecting Florida’s civil justice system. These awards, handed out during the Masters of Justice seminar on Amelia Island, commemorate the legacy of the lawyers who founded the FJA, including S. Victor Tipton, a former FJA president and founder and editor of the FJA’s Journal. Awarded annually, the Tipton Award celebrates one FJA member’s outstanding legal writing skills. Tom is the second Brannock Humphries & Berman partner to receive the Tipton Award; Celene Humphries won in 2009.
Tom’s writing prowess is well-known. Two trial lawyers who routinely work with him, Damian Mallard and Eric Roslansky, spoke about Tom’s top-notch writing skills at the lunch reception held in his honor. As those who have worked with or against him on a case know, Tom’s appellate briefs and trial-level pleadings routinely stand out for their ability to combine clarity and legal knowledge with a characteristic flourish that makes them both persuasive and, unlike routine legal writing, a joy to read.
Brannock Humphries & Berman congratulates Tom for this well-deserved award.
