Tom Seider Obtains Board Certification In Appellate Practice
Brannock & Humphries lawyer Tom Seider has joined the exclusive list of Florida attorneys who are board certified by The Florida Bar in appellate practice.
Board certification is The Florida Bar’s highest level of evaluation of the competency and experience of attorneys. It recognizes attorneys’ special knowledge, skills, and proficiency in various areas of law, along with their reputation for professionalism and ethics in practice.
Given that board certification is designed to help consumers identify specialists in different practice areas, the process for becoming board certified is intense. Appellate practice certification requires handling at least 25 appellate actions and 5 appellate oral arguments during the 5 years immediately preceding application, 45 hours of approved continuing legal education credits during the 3 years immediately preceding application, peer review, and a notoriously challenging written examination.
The Florida Bar’s certification program is consistently recognized as a national leader among other state programs. Only 7% of eligible Florida Bar members, or around 5,000 lawyers, are board certified in any area of law. Of those, fewer than 200 lawyers, statewide, have achieved board certification in appellate practice.
Brannock & Humphries congratulates Tom Seider on this impressive accomplishment.
