Steve Brannock And Brannock & Humphries Are Recognized For Exceptional Pro Bono Service
Brevard County Legal Aid honored Steve Brannock and Brannock & Humphries for their many hours of dedicated pro bono service at Brevard’s 31st Annual Pro Bono Awards Ceremony and Recognition Gala, held in Rockledge on March 16.
Steve Brannock and the firm provided 225 hours of pro bono service in 2017 on behalf of a young mother whose parental rights to several of her children were terminated. The case, in which Brannock & Humphries represented the mother on appeal to the Fifth District Court of Appeal, presented interesting and important issues concerning the rights of developmentally disabled parents to maintain custody over their children. In part because of Brannock & Humphries’ success in telling her story in the appeal, the mother has been reunited with two of her children.
The Awards Gala was officiated by Florida Bar President Michael J. Higer, who praised Brannock & Humphries for its commitment to pro bono legal services.
