The Trial Advocacy Workshop is designed to take attendees through a family law case from beginning to end, featuring topics such as developing a case strategy and theme, conducting direct and cross-examination of fact witnesses and experts, and presenting effective opening and closing arguments.  Always well-attended, it is led by some of the most experienced and well-respected attorneys, judges, and general magistrates in the field.

Ms. Berman’s portion of the seminar focused on how to run a “clean” trial and ensure that the record is properly positioned to either prosecute or defend a potential appeal.  She discussed how to preserve errors for appeal, provided practice pointers, and explained the strategy considerations for deciding whether to file a motion for rehearing.
